Another Incredible Big Island Visit at Fairway Villas!
Date of Stay:Jun 14, 2017
We've now stayed in Jan and Michael's town five times. We love the property because it delivers on so many fronts. The condo is in beautiful shape with prime appliances including a Viking BBQ and new X large refrigerator and new dishwasher. We love the amenities including the black bottom swimming pool/spa within 50 yard walk and access to the incredible Mauna Lani Beach Club. Add that to discounts at the Mauna Lani golf courses, a nearby shopping center with Tommy Bahamas and Ruth's Chris you can't go wrong. We love the Big Island and being away from crowds - if that sounds good and you like the warmth of a home away from home you can't go wrong with #805!

Terrific accommodations in a wonderful resort

We have enjoyed several extended stays in this well designed townhome. It is a very well maintained, clean, comfortable, nicely appointed and quiet spot. The owners, Jan and Michael, and the property manager, Larry, are responsive should there be a need. The kitchen is nicely equipped with all you need for as much cooking as you might care to do. The location in The Fairways is quiet and the design of the condo plus the landscaping gives good privacy on the lanai. We especially like that we can keep the windows open and enjoy the fresh Hawaiian air. During our stays in the winter months there is normally no need to close things up to run the air conditioning. We love our leisurely breakfasts on the lanai. Most days we take advantage of the wonderful, protected Mauna Lani beach for some excellent snorkeling and swimming. Alternatively, the Fairways pool and spa is a 2 minute walk. We stock up on fresh produce and other goodies at the Wednesday and Saturday farmer's markets in nearby Waimea -- an easy 25 minute drive. Grocery items, restaurants, and other shops are conveniently on the Mauna Lani Resort property located just 1/2 mile away. There is much to do and there are so many areas to explore on the Big Island. We previously stayed both in the Kona area and on the far north of the island, but we've settled on The Fairways at Mauna Lani as the ideal spot. Jan and Michaels' townhome has repeatedly been our 'go to' location.
All around amazing - 5 STAR

From the moment we arrived into the complex, we were more than impressed with the entire experience. The grounds were incredibly well kept, the shared facilities such as the pool area and work out area were spotless. The condo unit itself was immaculate, fresh and clean. Every detail of the construction was well thought out, and not a penny was pinched in the architecture or design, ensuring an optimal experience. The home was decorated with an elegant charm, but not too 'kitschy'. There were bare basics available which allowed for us to simply arrive and relax, and worry about stocking up on other sundries when we got around to it. Larry, the building manager was very communicative, available, kind and polite. The beach club access was a favorite of ours. Again, all and all a five star place, we cannot wait to book again and come back to this special place. Thank you, Jan!

Wonderful New Year Get-Away

The condo location and condition are terrific. 4 family members shared the property and there was plenty of room and comfort for everyone. The condition of the property is ideal, very attractive but livable. We were within a 10 minute walk to The Fairmont Orchid or the Mauna Lani, both great places to enjoy while visiting the island. The condo complex is very well maintained and quiet, yet close to everything you need, grocery store, restaurants, The Beach Club... We look forward to going back again soon!

This was our first trip to Hawaii and actually our first time trying out VRBO. Bottom line...what a wonderful experience. The owner and the property manager are very pleasant people. The townhouse is beautiful and comfortable, it really feels like staying at home. It is a much better alternative to a hotel or an overcrowded resort. The kitchen was perfect, with colorful plates that just brightened up the table. I have to say that all the furniture not only looks great, But it's also very comfortable, including the patio furniture. Love the dining table! By the way, there is a small grocery story a couple minutes away that has just about all the basics, it’s very convenient. In the same shopping area, there are various events in the evenings throughout the week, so check out their events calendar if you’re interested. The gated community in general is very clean and the grounds are meticulously manicured. It is a pleasure to go out and stroll around. The pool area is very well maintained with beautiful landscaping, pergolas and water features. It’s a bit of walk, but the coast is within walking distance, especially if you’re looking to get some exercise. The private beach access is wonderful, although I’d recommend just packing up the kids and beach toys in the car and driving. The Waikaloa Mauna Lani area truly is amazing. During our week long stay we explored quite a bit around the island and had a good mix of weather. Waikoloa must be a small micro climate because while it was cloudy or raining in other parts on the west side of the island, this area was sunny and warm. It’s a beautiful location. And one week is definitely too short, to explore the west coast. We’ll just have to come back again...Thank you for this opportunity. It was a real pleasure.
